Bank drafts offer a convenient and secure means of payment, and are more easily negotiated than postal money orders and are less vulnerable than cash to loss or theft.
MauBank has launched an education loan campaign as part of its commitment to supporting students and professionals in their pursuit of higher education and career advancement.
This loan is designed to cover essential education-related expenses, including tuition fees, accommodation, travel costs, and other necessary expenditures, ensuring that financial constraints do not stand in the way of academic success. The campaign offer includes:
- Zero processing fees for loans contracted during the campaign period.
- Free credit card issuance for the 1st year.
- Free Debit Card in FCY (USD & EUR) for the 1st year, available as from 01 April 2025.
These following terms and conditions (‘Terms and Conditions’) shall apply solely to the Education Loan Campaign 2025 (‘Campaign’).
1. FEATURES
Unsecured Loan
- Up to MUR 2M.
- Repayment up to 10 years.
Secured Loan
- Up to 100% Financing.
- Repayment up to 20 years.
- Can be availed in Mauritian Rupee (MUR) or Foreign Currency (USD, GBP & EUR).
- A moratorium on capital is available for the duration of courses, up to a maximum of 5 years + an additional of 3 months post-graduation.
- Finance training fees, accommodation, air ticket and living expenses.
- Valid for undergraduate, post graduate & professional programmes, may ii be full time, part time & online.
2. TERMS
- This Campaign is effective from 07 February to 15 April 2025, close of business, both dates inclusive (‘Campaign Period’).
- Loans applied for during the campaign period should be sanctioned not later than 6 months after the date of closure of the campaign, ie 15 April 2025.
- This Campaign is applicable to MauBank and Non-MauBank customer applying for an education loan.
- This Campaign is applicable to individuals only.
- The facility has to be used for the purpose for which it is being sanctioned.
3. ELIGIBILITY
- The applicant should have a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum of 65 years.
- The applicant should be a Mauritian citizen, or a non-Mauritian citizen, holder of a resident permit.
- The applicant's total repayment should satisfy the bank's internal credit assessment criteria.
4. WHO CAN APPLY
- Student who is an income earner.
- Parents and next of kin.
- Spouse.
5. BANKING AGREEMENT
This Campaign Terms and Conditions must be read with the respective product terms and the relevant banking agreements. If there are any inconsistencies between these terms and the relevant product terms and the banking agreement, these terms shall prevail limited only to the inconsistencies.
