Head of Information and Technology

The Head of Information and Technology is responsible for ensuring that the IT infrastructure and operations of the Bank is aligned with its strategic goals. This position will be directly be responsible for Bank’s IT Infrastructure, Applications & Channels and Data Centre Team. The Head – Information Technology will accompany the Bank’s strategy by continuously reviewing the IT strategy and execution plans that ensure the Bank’s technology and systems are able to support the business objectives.

Main duties



  • Oversee the strategic and operational planning of IT to achieve the Bank's goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing projects, and supervising the evaluation, execution, and management of current and future IT systems across the Bank. Additionally, create and maintain an effective IT organizational structure that meets the needs of all business units.
  • Formulate and manage the strategic and operational objectives, guidelines, and protocols for the technology department, identifying potential opportunities, monitoring new technologies, assessing their impacts, and suggesting their integration into the Bank, and keeping the Executive team informed of these advancements.
  • In charge of supervising budgeting, financial planning, and controls for technology projects, as well as guaranteeing the uninterrupted provision of IT services. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the effective commencement, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and completion of business projects and will also be required to formulate and deliver proposals, updates, issues, and findings to senior management, including recommendations, risk reduction strategies, cost-benefit analysis, and action plans.
  • Plan, create, and assess disaster recovery plans for all systems and implement effective alerts and monitoring systems for critical systems. Additionally, develop and automate manual and integration processes to improve productivity and performance based on identified pain points.
  • Act as a valuable resource for technology partners, internal stakeholders, external business partners, vendors, and suppliers. Foster strong professional connections with project teams, business sponsors, and stakeholders. Prepare detailed project design and execution documents, as well as task-level project plans, to coordinate activities with external partners and cross-functional teams.
  • Engage in value delivery for technology and innovation ventures. Collaborate with project team members to pinpoint business requirements. Support the development of strategic plans for new products. Contribute to and participate in IT/Project steering committees.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects efficiently using appropriate tools and methodologies. Establish and implement a comprehensive project management framework. Define market size and devise a competitive strategy to outperform competitors.
  • Adhere to all legal regulations. Ensure that policies and procedures are followed within the business solution team. Make sure that new regulatory requirements are implemented according to the approved timeline. Manage IT vendors/suppliers and take ownership of IT change policies.

Prerequisites



  • A degree or post graduate degree in Information Technology from a recognized institution
  • At least 10 years of working experience in a Banking Institution in IT department and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Microsoft heavy technology environment, including 5-10 years of practical professional experience in project management.


Skills



  • Experienced with designing, implementing and maintaining SharePoint environments.
  • Fundamental understanding of web-based systems programming and development.
  • Proficient with MS Project or similar software and MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Any other systems that may be put in place for the operations of the Bank.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional manner with technology staff, business stakeholders, end users, management and others outside the organization.
  • Experience estimating project costs.
