Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management

MauBank is seeking an accomplished and commercially driven Head of Private Banking & Wealth Management to lead the growth and development of its High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) client portfolio.

The Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management will provide strategic and commercial leadership to the Private Banking & Wealth Management function, driving client acquisition, portfolio growth, revenue, profitability and exceptional client experience.

The role will also lead and develop a high-performing team of Relationship Managers, while ensuring strong governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across the portfolio. 

Main duties



  • Lead the Private Banking & Wealth Management strategy and drive sustainable growth of the HNW/UHNW client portfolio.
  • Acquire new HNW/UHNW clients and deepen existing relationships to maximise client value and share of wallet.
  • Drive growth across deposits, investments, lending, treasury, FX and structured products.
  • Manage and monitor key portfolio metrics, including AUM, deposits, revenue, profitability and credit exposure.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted and long-term relationships with HNW/UHNW clients.
  • Identify client needs and develop tailored financial, investment and wealth management solutions.
  • Develop strong networks with entrepreneurs, business owners, professionals and key decision-makers to generate new business and referrals.
  • Monitor market, economic and competitor trends to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Work closely with Credit, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Product and other internal stakeholders to deliver seamless client solutions.
  • Ensure full adherence to KYC, AML/CFT, regulatory, risk and internal policy requirements.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Private Banking team, setting clear objectives and KPIs and fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, integrity and client excellence.


Prerequisites



  • Degree in Banking, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in banking, including substantial experience in Relationship Management and Private Banking/Wealth Management.
  • Proven track record in managing and growing HNW/UHNW client portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, wealth management solutions and financial markets.
  • Sound knowledge of banking regulations, KYC, AML/CFT and risk management requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, client acquisition, portfolio growth and achieving commercial targets.
  • Experience in leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
